Pratiques et politiques de traduction dans les fictions criminelles

The special issue Pratiques et politiques de traduction dans les fictions criminelles is the result of discussions, seminars, and conferences organised as part of the ANR project “POLARisation. Pour une Histoire des récits criminels imprimés en régime médiatique : archives, collections, presse, circulations. 1945-1989,” led by the University of Limoges in collaboration with the Universities of Paris Nanterre and Montpellier 3. The project aims to explore the rise and spread of crime fiction in France since the end of the Second World War. It also examines the ways in which it circulated transnationally by analysing adaptations, intertextual interactions and translations, combining several research approaches, methodologies, and tools, from archival research to computational linguistics.

The nine articles of this special issue cover a wide range of issues and research methods in their approaches to the translation of crime fiction. In line with the POLARisation project, most of them focus on the translation of foreign novels in France, but some also offer comparative insights into the situation in other countries, such as Italy and Bulgaria.
